Meet Fouzia Usman

Salaam, I’m Fouzia! I’m honored to introduce myself to you before we get started.

My background is a fusion of being a mom, a dawah enthusiast, a student of knowledge, and a software engineer molded for more than two decades in corporate environments and personal development spaces. The blend of these experiences and learning gave me a unique perspective and ability to see troubling issues among Muslim children growing up in the West. This then enabled me to launch Ummah Stars – a tool for children just like yours.

Later, I created The Parenting GPS Program because I realized that not only children needed training in the deen, but other parents too. I saw those in the community around me pouring their hearts out and doing their best to raise their children within the protective structure of Islam, but not seeing the results they expected.

Despite teaching their children about the deen and sending them to the weekend or full-time Islamic schools, among other efforts, their children would only practice the deen in lip service, dutiful way. My own experience – where my son started doubting his faith – galvanized me into action to learn how to rethink my entire parenting practice.

I wanted to know how to raise children who love the deen and create the starting point for helping other parents lay out a strong foundation to raise their children in the deen too.

I knew that there had to be a better way – a parenting method that actually worked. When I couldn’t find one, I created my own.

Everything I’ve learned is what I’ll be sharing with you in The Parenting GPS. I’ll share how my son, who was on the verge of leaving Islam, has become a Hafidh, Alhamdulillah! And I’ll share how you can get the same result with your children.

My mission is to give parents the tools they need to help their children build a foundation that ensures that they hold onto the deen for life – and beyond.

Parenting GPS includes 6 carefully designed modules that will lead you through a powerful process:

Module 1

In this module, you will begin your journey of exploring parenting through the lens of Islam. You will be introduced to the many blessings as well as the responsibilities associated with parenting. And then you will delve into a huge parenting task: the spiritual education of your children while living in a predominantly non-Muslim society.

You will identify the four gaps that exist in a child's life, thereby contributing to their lack of deep connection to Islam.

And then you will explore the solution. You will be introduced to the concept of a framework called a LIFE MAP through which you and your children will be able to establish a VISION of Jannah as their ultimate destination.

Module 2

Now begins the work of creating that LIFE MAP that is unique to you and your family and establishing the VISION of Jannah as the ultimate destination. In this module, this will become an overarching theme that you will learn to incorporate into each of the five facets of your life, from education to career to hobbies and relationships to daily actions. You will learn three concrete ways to establish this vision of Jannah as the ultimate goal in all aspects of life as well as tailored tips for various stages of your child's life. And you will conclude with the opportunity to work on drawing up your Life Map with practical ways that will help your family to establish this VISION of Jannah as the ultimate destination.

Module 3

Having established a VISION of Jannah as the ultimate destination, you will now segue into learning how to strengthen and protect that vision. You will learn how to stay away from and protect yourself from things that wipe away your good deeds by identifying them and enacting strategies to prevent them from happening.

And then you will focus on the essential skill of repairing any damage done by your actions. The path towards the VISION will have many obstacles and setbacks, but in the end there is always a way forward. By the end of this module, you will be equipped with three tools to continue on the path to Jannah regardless of what happens.

Module 4

Having learned to establish the VISION of Jannah as the ultimate destination and to protect and persevere on that journey, you will now explore what your role as a parent is in all of this.
You will learn six strategies to help you be the best guide and parent to your child as they journey to Jannah. There will be numerous practical examples, as well as opportunities to apply the new information to your own lives as a parent.

Module 5

In this module you will be a farmer: you will be planting the seeds of Imaan in your children and tending to them so that they grow. The focus is now on your child's heart, and you will learn five ways that you can help to plant and establish these tiny seeds of Imaan in their hearts. Each of the five aspects focuses on a different part of your role: from your relationship with your child to the people that surround them, from their knowledge of Allah to your strength of Imaan itself. And most importantly, you will learn practical and concrete ways to deeply connect to Allah in even the most mundane task.

Module 6

The seeds of Imaan are planted, so now you will be a nurturer and cultivator.

You will explore nine different ways to strengthen these seeds of Imaan.

Your child is now growing up and their Imaan is encountering the world and all its fitnahs. In this module, you will be equipped with the last set of tools to walk alongside your child to adulthood.
In the end, you will leave equipped with the strategies and tools to give your children their own set of tools that will help get them to Jannah.

Imaan Deficiency - How to bring troubled teens back to the deen
In this bonus module, I will go thru the Introduction to Imaan deficiency in kids and the symptoms of Imaan deficiency in detail. You will learn the details on what causes Imaan deficiency and how you can spot them before it’s too late. You will also learn how to deploy countermeasures and address the issue
